Sponsor a High School Student

I was a teacher for 20 years in urban public schools and always sought to incorporate the arts in all aspects of my teaching.   I observed over the years that opportunities to explore creativity are not common in the educational system and so last summer I began offering a scholarship to a Memorial HS student to attend an intensive one week pottery course at Artesana Pottery.  These opportunities are rare in urban settings with large immigrant populations and I am looking to expand this program to provide a few more students an avenue to develop their creativity.  A young persons' mind should not be limited by financial constraints so I am asking you to please support my efforts  to provide 4 scholarships (in addition to the one offered by Artesana) for HS students from WNY Memorial and Union City High Schools. The requirement to qualify is an enthusiasm to learn something new and not GPA dependent; because clay is good for everyone and grades are not an indicator of a student's interest or ability to create .
