THE PROCESS

Using a potters wheel clay is centered and worked to create a basic cylinder shape.  This shape is then pressed, pulled and open to the desired piece: bowls, plates, pitchers the possibilities are endless.

WHEEL THROWING

With guidance and support you will learn to center clay to form a cylinder which is the basis for other shapes. Classes are small and designed for individual attention so that each student can develop skills in a relaxed environment. You will have guided studio time once a week and plenty of open studio time to practice.

Workshops are one day classes where you will try your hand at centering clay. If you want to keep 1 additional piece that you make during your visit, there is an additional $25 fee. This additional fee covers trimming, glazing (choose two colors) and two firings. A process that takes 3-4 weeks to complete.
